Qualifications:
· Headend Technician with Shaw Cablesystems current position includes Motorola CDLP and Docsis and CISCO UBR6400 Cable router maintenance. Takes care of the Fibre Transmitters and Receivers and the Analog and Digital CATV System in the Shaw Edmonton West Headend.
· Heavily involved with the Videotron PowerSurfr Initiative duties included set-up, configuration and trouble shooting of the Hybrid Fibre/Coax system, up to and including the customer's PC.
· Good understanding and working knowledge of many software and OS applications with training in Dos, Win3.x, Win9X, ME, Unix, NT4, Mac OS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TCP/IP and SNMP trouble shooting.
· Educated in WAN, LAN and GAN architectures and network transport technologies.
· A conscientious and hard working person with great people skills.
· Frequently called upon to defuse problem situations.
·
Designed and taught courses at Videotron on basic Cable
TV and Multisystem equipment.
Education:
Interests: Hobby farming (goats, horses, and chickens), training and riding horses, computers, x-country skiing, canoeing, and fishing.
